Nine mile run past Atlanta's landmarks

Starbucks (map)

Selected By: Geoffrey Graham

We're meeting in front of the Ansley Mall Starbucks at 2pm Saturday to begin a nine miler thru the city. If you join us, expect to see some of Atlanta's most famous landmarks: Peachtree Street, the High Museum, the Fabulous Fox Theater, the Georgian Terrace, Woodruff Park, the State Capital Building, Oakland Cemetery, Little Five Points, Virginia Highland, Morningside, and Piedmont Park, as well as a healthy dose of local color. In our attempt to keep it to about 9 miles, we may not make it to all of those places, but you get the idea. We'll probably have a 9m15s pace. Maybe 9 if we're really bookin'. Maybe slower if we stop for a Gluten-free beer in L5P.

This sounds like a great run. I wish I was able to make it. I hope to be able to join up with you for a run soon. Thanks for your help to organize the various events. Gerry (Duluth)

Peachtree Street thru downtown to the State Capital Building, then the stadium, then Oakland Cemetery (truly awesome), Cabbagetown, the Krog St Tunnell, Inman Park, (a break for beers at) Little Five Points, then thru Virginia Highland to finish up. My only regret is that we somehow skipped Piedmont Park. Here was our route: http://conn...

Great time seeing the sites (and stopping for an 8-mile beer in L5P)!
